Med Surg RN Job in Lexington, KY

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking an RN for a Med Surg position in Lexington, KY. This is a 3rd shift role working three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Weekends and holidays are required as needed. The assignment is 89 weeks, starting November 16, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,296.

Your Responsibilities:

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice
• Conduct nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments focused on healing and wellness
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities with attention to timely coordination
• Provide patient and family-centered education and develop individualized treatment plans
• Identify patient risk factors, cultural considerations, age, and developmental level during assessments
• Collect objective and subjective data and verify initial admission assessments
• Develop and prioritize patient problem lists in coordination with the inter-professional team
• Determine desired outcomes with patients and families in accordance with the medical plan of care
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes clearly to patients and families
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in patient care activities
• Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated care
• Identify and address patient educational needs related to prioritized problems
• Coordinate timely discharge processes with Case Management as indicated
• Participate actively in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Apply evidence-based practice, current research, and hospital policies to clinical decision-making
