PCU Registered Nurse Job in Waukesha, WI

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital. This is a 13-week contract position with 3x12-hour day shifts, including every other weekend and holiday rotation. You will have 36 guaranteed hours per week with no on-call or callback requirements.

Clinical Focus

Your primary responsibility is caring for cardiac and progressive care patients with a patient ratio of 1:4–5. The unit manages a diverse patient population including open heart surgical patients, arrhythmia, chest pain, cardiac procedures, heart failure, acute myocardial infarctions, sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and medical overflow. You will need strong cardiology and heart care experience with comfort in rhythm interpretation and routine cardiac care protocols.

Requirements

• Current Wisconsin or Compact RN license
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum 1 year of cardiac nursing experience
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current Epic charting experience within the last 12 months
• Ability to float to Oconomowoc Memorial and/or Mukwonago as needed
• At least 1 completed travel contract preferred
• Short-term acute care hospital experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

ICU nurses comfortable with 1:4–5 patient ratios will also be considered for this role.

Position Details

You will work day shifts with a flexible approach to scheduling. Scrub colors are unrestricted. The position begins October 20, 2026, and runs for 13 weeks. Weekly compensation is $2,462.40.
