PCU Registered Nurse Job in Greensboro, NC

Cone Health - The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Greensboro, NC. This is a 112-week travel position beginning September 21, 2026, at $2,100 weekly.

Schedule & Staffing

• 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM)
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• No call required
• Float between all Cone Health campuses as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:5

Unit Overview

You will work in a 34-bed general medical progressive care unit where all beds are telemetry-monitored for continuous cardiac surveillance. A centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department provides dedicated monitoring support. The unit serves an adults-only population with a typical daily census of 30 patients across 35 beds. This is a high-level, high-functioning unit with multiple long-term patients.

Clinical Skills & Requirements

You must have 2 years of nursing experience and EPIC EMR proficiency. Required certifications are ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. You will need to pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed). Charge experience is preferred.

Your clinical responsibilities include cardiac telemetry monitoring with dysrhythmia management and interpretation, peripheral and PICC line care and management, drip titration, and tracheostomy care. You will also manage BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, central lines, chest tubes, CVA management, heparin protocols, high-flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, PCA management, and wound care with wound vacs.

Patient Population

Primary diagnoses include stroke, renal disorders, sepsis, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and hematological conditions. First-time travelers are accepted for this role.
