About this role

Cone Health - The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 28-bed Progressive Care Unit in Greensboro, NC. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with an expected commitment of every other weekend, signing up for five weekend shifts every six weeks.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a patient ratio of 5:1
  • Manage cardiac patient populations including acute coronary syndrome, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization, rule-out myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and syncope
  • Monitor patients with chest pain, stable STEMI, NSTEMI, new-onset and chronic atrial fibrillation, Tikosyn load, pre- and post-EP lab care for pacemaker and ICD placement, and heart failure
  • Provide overflow coverage for other Progressive Care Level patients
  • Participate in rapid response teams as required

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum two years nursing experience; first-time travelers welcome
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Cardiac Telemetry and PCU experience required
  • Rapid response team experience required
  • Post-MI and pre- and post-cardiac catheterization experience required
  • EPIC EMR proficiency required
  • Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)

Required Clinical Skills

  • TR bands, central lines, PICC lines, and CVP monitoring
  • Blood product administration and cardiac telemetry
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and IV insulin protocols
  • Cardiac and vasoactive drip management, PCA, and peripheral line care
  • Telemetry monitoring, wound care, and tracheostomy care

Assignment Details

This 112-week assignment begins October 5, 2026, and offers weekly pay of $2,113. You may be floated between Cone Health campuses as needed. The unit provides interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
