CNA Job in Altoona, PA

Join West Central – UPMC Altoona as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on a 90-day travel assignment. You will work 3 days per week on a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, earning $1,368 weekly.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of RNs and LPNs, assisting with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing, toileting, and ambulation
• Maintain safe and clean patient environments by performing safety checks, organizing patient rooms, cleaning equipment, changing bed linens, and keeping hallways clear
• Respond promptly to patient calls and requests for assistance
• Gather and distribute supplies and equipment to support care delivery
• Assist with patient nourishment, including serving meals, feeding assistance, and filling water pitchers
• Perform routine monitoring tasks such as obtaining weights, recording vital signs, and tracking intake and output
• Communicate observations to nursing staff, reporting any changes in patient status promptly
• Document care provided in the medical record according to facility procedures
• Follow all safety protocols, including standard precautions and bloodborne pathogen exposure policies
• Respond appropriately to emergent situations within the CNA scope of practice

Required Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pennsylvania Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances
• Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
