CNA Job in Altoona, PA

West Central – UPMC Altoona is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the acute care team. This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning November 2, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts on a rotating basis
• Weekly pay: $1,370
• Duration: 90 days
• Location: Altoona, PA

Your Responsibilities

You will provide direct patient care under the direction of RN and LPN staff, including assistance with all activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, dressing, transporting, toileting, and ambulating patients. You will maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient environment by completing safety checks and properly storing equipment. You will respond promptly to patient needs and calls, acquire and distribute supplies and equipment as needed, and assist with patient nourishments and feeding.

You will perform routine tests including weights, vital signs, and intake and output measurements. Documentation in the medical record will follow established procedures. You will provide feedback to nursing staff regarding patient care and report any changes in patient status in a timely manner. Your work will include compliance with all safety policies, standard precautions, and bloodborne pathogen exposure protocols, and you will respond within your scope of practice to emergent situations.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CNA
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of body mechanics and patient transfer techniques required
• BLS certification required
• Pennsylvania Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances required
