ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital, a high-volume 101-bed facility in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a 91-day travel position starting September 14, 2026, with a 3x12 night shift schedule (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM) and weekly pay of $1,381.

Your Role

You'll provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ED environment, managing typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds. You must be flexible to float across all ED sections and will utilize Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and Cerner documentation. Every other weekend scheduling is required; block scheduling is not available.

Support and Standards

The ED provides techs in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, triage, and unit clerks on both day and night shifts. You'll follow AIDET patient experience standards and respectful behavior protocols, keeping patient boards updated throughout visits. Navy scrubs are your required uniform.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in the Emergency Room
• Previous experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (over 100,000 visits annually) preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before your start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
