PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in the Progressive Care Unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel position starting September 21, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,102.40.

Schedule & Expectations

• 3x12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement with holiday support
• No on-call obligations
• Floating policy in place across the unit

Unit Overview

The unit operates 10 ICU/PCU overflow beds with patient ratios of 2:1 ICU and 4–5:1 PCU. Each shift is staffed with 1 Charge RN and 5 Staff RNs. The charge nurse works outside the staffing ratio. No unit secretaries or PCTs are available, so you'll be responsible for documentation and care coordination. Bedside shift reports are mandatory, and the relief charge nurse performs nurse leader rounding.

Clinical Requirements

You must have medical ICU experience in a large facility with demonstrated comfort in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management. Advanced skills required include ventilator management, critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors), advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and central line management. You'll assist providers with bedside procedures including chest tube insertion and intubations.

• Cerner documentation system
• Lift equipment, Targeted Temperature Management (TTM), ventilators, and IV pumps

Certifications & Dress Code

• Required: BLS, ACLS
• Dress code: Navy blue or white scrubs
