Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 4x10 hour shifts with variable start times between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM
• Occasional on-call shifts as needed
• Float between PACU and Same Day Surgery (Phase I and Phase II areas)
• Provide competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care for Same Day Surgery and PreOp patients
• Manage overall nursing care from admission to discharge, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and hygiene
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments including biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning factors
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other disciplines
• Administer treatments, medications, and perform nursing skills in a timely manner
• Respond to medical and environmental emergencies in a calm, efficient, and competent manner
• Serve as liaison between nursing and medical staff to facilitate collaborative patient care
• Monitor patient acuity levels and document accurately and in a timely manner
• Required skills include: Phase I PACU, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, central line care/management, IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, reversal agents, conscious sedation, post-epidural management, malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment and management, PCA pump management, and RASS monitoring
• Surgical specialties include: bariatrics, ENT, general, gynecology, neuro, ophthalmology, ortho, and vascular
• Anesthesia types include: general, local, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), nerve blocks, and spinal
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CA RN License
• Note: PALS is not required for this position
