PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 8-hour shifts with varied start times (7:30 AM, 8:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, or occasionally 2:00 PM)
• On-call required every other weekend, holidays, and overnight call during the week with a 30-minute response time
• No weekend in-house shifts; call only on weekends
• Rotate holidays in with core staff; expected to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• May flex to Pre/Post or PCU (Post Care Unit) based on volume
• Common patient diagnoses include total hips/knees, general surgery, daVinci, neuro, urology, and pediatric dental cases on some Fridays (1:1 with pediatric patients)
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
• EMR system: Cerner
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Floor-specific orientation of 1-2 days in PACU with a preceptor
• Will not be required to float outside of this facility
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or up to 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Must be flexible and dependable, willing to cover call-outs and switch shifts to meet the unit's scheduled cases
• At least 1 completed travel assignment preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS (AHA)
