ED RN Job in Lufkin, TX

You will work as a registered nurse in the emergency department at CHI St Lukes Health–Memorial Lufkin. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,021.76.

Schedule and Shift Details

• Three 12-hour shifts per week, days (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby obligation
• Self-scheduling available with shift options including 9–9, 11–11, 1–1, and 3–3

Clinical Environment

The department operates 24 beds plus 3 trauma bays and a fast track area. You will manage a patient ratio of 1 to 4 and see a high volume with approximately 80–90 patients per day. Common presentations include trauma, stroke, sepsis, congestive heart failure, and cardiac conditions. The ED maintains a separate triage area, and you may assume occasional triage responsibilities as a traveler.

Clinical Responsibilities and Expectations

• You must independently read and interpret ECG rhythms; the facility has no monitor technicians
• You will perform or assist with phlebotomy as needed alongside tech staff
• Respiratory therapy manages ventilators, CPAP, BiPap, high-flow oxygen, and arterial blood gases
• CT and X-ray imaging are located adjacent to the ED
• Floating to qualified units may be required
• ER holds are managed within the ED itself
• In-house security is available

System and Requirements

Charting occurs in the Paragon EMR system. Navy scrubs are required. You must hold current ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and either ENPC or PALS certification. A minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience is required. A BSN is not required.
