ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Schedule options of 3x12-hour shifts or 4x12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract are required
• 48-hour contracts available with overtime billed after 48 hours
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Must be willing to float to Stepdown Unit, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients being held
• Strong neuro critical care experience required, including post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke management
• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients required
• IV drip titration and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition and management required
• Conscious sedation administration and monitoring required
• Emergency response and critical care management required
• Patient populations include neurosurgical and post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis and MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath
• Patients served include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Must be proficient in Epic; no exceptions
• Three years of critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Travel experience preferred
• Active Virginia or Compact RN license required in hand at time of submission; no exceptions
• Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association only), ACLS (American Heart Association only), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• EKG testing required; must achieve 80% or higher to pass with one attempt allowed and no remediation available
• 3 hours of pre-start modules required
