ICU Registered Nurse Job in Chesapeake, VA

Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Intensive Care Unit. You will work 4x12 night shifts over a 91-day contract beginning November 16, 2026, earning $2,937.60 weekly.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a typical ratio of 1:2–3 patients
• Manage ventilators, IV drip titration, and telemetry monitoring
• Recognize and manage dysrhythmias and conscious sedation
• Respond to emergencies and deliver critical care management
• Float to Step-Down, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units as needed to support ICU patient overflow
• Work every other weekend and holidays within the contract period

Patient Populations

• Post-neurosurgical and post-stroke patients
• Respiratory and renal failure
• Trauma, sepsis, and multi-organ dysfunction (MODS)
• Heart failure and post-surgical cases

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia or Compact RN license at time of submission
• Three years of critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Strong neuro critical care experience, including EVD management and stroke care
• Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• EKG testing required; you must score 80% or higher with one attempt allowed
• No license or background hits permitted
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Travel experience preferred
• 3 hours of pre-start online modules required
• Indicate scheduling preference (3x12 or 4x12) and overtime preference at submission
