ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking an RN for backfill coverage in the Emergency Department. This is a travel position running 91 days, starting September 28, 2026.

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12 nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Weekly pay: $2,179
• High-volume, 101-bed Emergency Department
• Patient ratios: typically 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 for behavioral holds

Your Responsibilities

• Float flexibly across all ED sections
• Monitor patients using GE equipment and Baxter pumps
• Document in Cerner system
• Apply AIDET patient experience standards and respectful behavior protocols
• Maintain current patient boards throughout visits
• Work every other weekend with no block scheduling available

Support and Resources

Techs are available in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage, and clerical support operates on both day and night shifts. You will not float outside the ED.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in ER
• Prior experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) preferred
• Required certifications at start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Navy scrubs required
• Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback

This role is ideal for a travel nurse seeking 3-month ED experience in a fast-paced Level I care center with comprehensive support systems in place.
