Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Day shift position with 48 guaranteed hours per week
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Med Surg/Tele required; 3+ years preferred
• Travel experience required; must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Patient ratio of 1:6/7 (goal of 1:5) utilizing team nursing model with support from PCC, RN, and others
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include CHF, AMI, post cath lab, PPM placements, ablations, and general med surg cases
• Responsibilities include verifying rhythm strips, managing drips at set rate, and titrating heparin per protocol
• Unit consists of 48 beds with a daily census of 42
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Skills required: Med/Surg, MS/Tele, starting and maintaining IVs
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• On-call required as needed
• Block scheduling not available; weekend block may be considered
• Must be willing to work 2 of 3 end-of-year holidays if all three fall within the assignment, or at least 1 of 2 if only two holidays fall within the assignment
• RNs may be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius
• Must hold an active RN license in the state or a compact RN license in compliance with NLC guidelines
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• ADN accepted; BSN not required for this position
