Telemetry RN Job in Memphis, Tennessee

Methodist University Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry position in Memphis, Tennessee. This is a day shift role working 4x12-hour schedules with 48 guaranteed hours per week. The assignment runs for 91 days, starting August 10, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,764.80.

Role Overview

You will work on a 48-bed Telemetry unit with a daily census of 42 patients. Your responsibilities include verifying rhythm strips, managing drips at set rates, titrating heparin per protocol, and starting and maintaining intravenous lines. You will care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including congestive heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, post-catheterization lab cases, pacemaker placements, ablations, and general medical-surgical cases.

Staffing Model & Ratios

The unit uses a team nursing model with support from primary care coordinators and other RNs. Patient ratios are 1:6/7 with a goal of 1:5. Weekend coverage and on-call duties are required as needed. You may be floated to like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius. Block scheduling is not available, though weekend block schedules may be considered.

Support & Resources

Interdisciplinary support is available through Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation. The facility uses Epic for charting; Epic experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license in Tennessee or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
• Minimum 2 years recent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience; 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• ADN or BSN (ADN accepted; BSN not required)

Holiday & Scheduling

You must be willing to work 2 of 3 end-of-year holidays if all three fall within the assignment, or at least 1 of 2 if only two holidays fall within the assignment.
