Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend is required; number of weekend shifts may vary based on unit needs
• No on-call required
• Patient ratio is 1:5 for days, nights, and weekends
• 2 years of Med-Surg experience required; Med-Surg/Telemetry experience preferred
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Teaching hospital and Level I/II trauma experience preferred
• Floating within scope is required based on hospital needs
• Up to 2 pre-approved time-off requests permitted per contract
• Every other winter and summer holiday are required; no RTO approved on holidays
• No RTO on hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.
• Block scheduling not available; travelers must remain flexible
• Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission
• Required certifications: BLS; ACLS, NIHSS, 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course, and TCRN are preferred
• Rapid Response/Code Team experience required
• Blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line management, phlebotomy, PICC management, and IV initiation required
• Heparin management required
• Colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management experience required
• Chest tube management required
• Tracheostomy care, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration experience required
• Isolation precautions and wound/wound vac care experience required
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis, continuous bladder irrigation, trach collars, and chronic trach/ventilator care required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Scrub color is navy blue; dress-down Fridays are permitted
• Unit serves adult and geriatric patients with common diagnoses including respiratory distress, possible sepsis, UTI, cellulitis, change in mental status, pain, generalized weakness, and abnormal labs
• Unit includes 11 beds designated for chronic tracheostomy/ventilator patients
• Hospitalist coverage available 24/7
