Emergency Room RN Job in Falls Church, VA

Join Fairfax Medical Campus as a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department. You'll work 12-hour shifts with start times at 7:00 AM, 10:00 AM, or 11:00 AM, and this assignment runs for 54 weeks beginning July 20, 2026. You'll earn $2,151 per week.

About the Role

This is a high-acuity ED environment designated as a stroke, STEMI, and trauma center. You'll work in a main ED with 73 rooms and 24 hallway beds, processing approximately 350 patients per day. You may also float to satellite locations: a 10-bed ED in Fairfax City (roughly 40 patients daily) and a 7-bed facility in the Reston/Herndon area (approximately 25 patients daily).

Schedule and Expectations

• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• 1–2 on-call shifts per 6-week period
• 1 major and 1 minor holiday assignment

Key Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
• Level I or II trauma center experience required
• Strong ED background in stroke, STEMI, and trauma-level care
• EPIC electronic health record experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and CPI
• Previous travel nursing experience highly preferred

Department Details

Non-acute patients are managed on a dedicated non-acute side of the ED with no separate fast track area. Psychiatric patients are medically cleared before admission; sitters are assigned for suicidal patients. Security is on-site in the department. Although this facility is a trauma center, you will not directly care for trauma patients but must maintain trauma-level ED competency.
