RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include diabetes, med/surg, post-op, wound vacs, and bariatrics
• Unit is Medical Surgical with remote telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratio is 1:5-6 with 33 beds and an average daily census of 28
• Required certifications: BLS
• Required charting system: Epic; additional systems include Pyxis and SBAR
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Every other weekend shift required
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Call requirements include every other weekend, holidays as needed, and relief charge
• Holiday work expectations apply based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Required skills include blood product administration, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube care, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, telemetry remote monitoring, wound care/wound vac, PICC line management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PCA, surgical drains, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Special equipment includes Diligent lift equipment, Spectralink phones, Rovers, and Space Labs in every room
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
