Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratio of 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• 30-bed unit with a daily census of 26 patients
• Self-scheduling type
• May float to other units within scope of practice, including Ashby or Herrick Campus depending on need and census
• Travelers should expect to be flexible with floating to different campuses or within the hospital with approximately 1.5 hours notice prior to shift start time; shuttle is provided if floating is requested
• Provide care for patients with diagnoses including heart failure with rhythm disturbance, MI/STEMI/NSTEMI/elevated troponins or chest pain, arrhythmia/dysrhythmia, acute respiratory failure, pulmonary embolism, and post-op cardiothoracic surgery
• Proficiency with cardiac telemetry, telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience with central line care/management, arterial line management, PICC line management, and peripheral line care required
• Ability to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, and IV insulin protocols
• Skills required include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, PCA management, phlebotomy, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, post cardiac angiogram, and pre/post hemodialysis management required
• Proficiency with procedural sedation administration and monitoring, sheath removal, and TR Band required
• Experience using Epic charting system required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• 2 years of experience required
• Experience in noninvasive cardiac stress testing and monitoring of cardiovascular special procedures required
• Cardiac rehab experience in phase II and III preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Valid California RN license required
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
