ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Patient ratio experience of 2-3:1 in ICU setting
• May be required to float to Med/Surg or Telemetry units if ICU census is low, with ratios of 5-6:1
• Weekend coverage required
• Pre-approved time off: one request per contract
• Charting system: Cerner experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Patients served include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC or TCAR, and EKG course completion
• 6 hours of Stroke education required
• Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVA/acute stroke management, emergency medications, ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, post craniotomy and post neurosurgery management, pre/post cardiac cath and intervention, spinal cord injury care, suctioning, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, traumatic brain injury management, and ventilator management
