Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 or 48 hours available per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed to other med/surg units and floors
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Must have at least 1 year of travel experience - first time travelers will not be accepted
• Target patient ratio of 1:6, with potential for 1:7 due to call-outs or staffing needs
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Required skills: IV start, blood product administration, central line care and management, heparin protocols, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, telemetry monitoring, BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care and management, renal failure management, surgical drains, wound care and wound vac
• Charting systems used: PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Scrubs: Navy and/or white
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with GI conditions, blood loss and anemia associated with the GI tract, infections, renal conditions, post-surgical GI patients, and cardiac monitoring patients across 10 telemetry beds
• Fast-paced unit with an average turnover of one-third of beds daily
• Daily census of 30 patients across 30 beds and 30 rooms
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
