Telemetry RN Job in Fredericksburg, TX

Methodist Hospital Hill Country is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN for a 13-week contract position on a 24-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit located on the 2nd floor of the main hospital.

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12 nights (6 PM to 6 AM)
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Weekly pay: $1,937
• Start date: September 25, 2026

Experience and Certifications

• Must have Telemetry experience and Post-op Care experience
• 2 or more years of nursing experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Preferred certifications: PALS, NIH

Core Responsibilities

• Perform daily weights, vital signs, intake/output, hourly rounding, and bedside report
• Admit and discharge your own patients
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips, heparin drips, PCA pumps, and epidural pumps
• Perform wound care, IV starts, nasogastric tube placement, Foley catheter care, and phototherapy
• Operate equipment including computers on wheels (C.O.W.s), blood pressure machines, Dopplers, bladder scanners, Hoyer lifts, Sara Steady devices, sit-to-stand lifts, traction, sequential compression devices (SCDs), IV pumps, Ambit pain pumps, and KCI and Prevena wound vacs

Work Environment

• EMR system: Meditech Expanse (PCS)
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• 4-week rotating schedule requiring every other weekend or 2 weekends per schedule
• Holidays required
• Requests for time off must be pre-approved
• May float to ICU for Med-Surg overflow patients
