ED RN Job in Gainesville, FL

UF Health Shands Cancer Hospital seeks an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Gainesville, FL. You will work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three shifts per week (36 hours weekly) at $2,376 per week.

Schedule & Expectations

• Variable days with weekends and holidays required
• No block scheduling
• Floating across units required; flexibility is essential
• Request time off (RTO) blackout dates: November 26–28, December 24–25, and December 31
• No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed for the full 13-week contract
• Unplanned time off (UTO) may result in contract cancellation if missed shifts are not made up

Required Qualifications

• Current Florida RN License or Compact RN License at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience
• Most recent 12 months of experience at an academic medical center (preferred) or a Level I or Level II Trauma Center in a major metropolitan area
• Recent experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Recent EPIC experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• PALS or ENPC certification required
• Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates

Additional Requirements

• Specialty-specific competency exam and EKG exam (rhythm mapping and interpretation) must be completed successfully before start date
• Minimum score of 80% required on each exam; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required regardless of overall EKG score
• Review of cardiac rhythms prior to start is strongly recommended
• Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the last 12 months
• Unit Manager interview required

Preferred Certification

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
