PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• Must work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as part of holiday schedule
• No on-call or standby requirements
• 18-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
• One PCT available per shift
• Treat typical stepdown patients including post MI with sheath pull, ADHF, post-op vascular, GI bleed, and DKA
• Required to titrate drips including Nitroglycerin, Neo, and Cardene
• Monitor and read telemetry strips for all patients
• Operate BiPAP and CPAP respiratory equipment
• Charge nurse and house supervisor available; charge nurse will not typically carry a patient assignment
• Float to other units as needed
• Chart using EPIC electronic health record system
• Royal blue scrubs required; undershirts must be white, royal blue, or black
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
