Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job in Indianapolis, IN

IU Health Riley Hospital for Children is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a travel assignment in pediatric respiratory and neuro diagnostics. You will support critical care and acute care patients across multiple units in a children's hospital setting.

Assignment Details

• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: November 16, 2026
• Shift: 4x12 nights (3x12 option available; block schedules available except Tuesday–Thursday)
• Weekly pay: $2,795
• Every other weekend requirement

Primary and Floating Responsibilities

Your primary placement will be in Labor & Delivery (L&D), with potential floating to PICU, NICU, and Pediatrics Acute Care, as well as to an affiliate hospital. You will be assigned a home unit of NICU, PICU, or Pediatrics upon arrival, with placement subject to facility need.

Required Experience and Credentials

• Minimum 2 years respiratory therapy experience
• Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years
• L&D experience required for primary placement
• NICU or PICU experience required
• Current NBRC RRT certification
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Indiana state license required
• PALS certification preferred
• Education accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
• Temporary Indiana license accepted if permanent application submitted

Key Clinical Skills

You will demonstrate competency in aerosol setup, BiPAP, CPAP, extubation, arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation, nitric oxide (iNO) therapy, pediatric critical care, pulmonary hygiene, tracheostomy care and management, weaning from mechanical ventilation, Servo U ventilator operation, and additional respiratory therapy procedures.

IU Health Riley Hospital for Children uses the Cerner charting system. You will work with neonates, infants, and pediatric patients in a specialized children's hospital environment.
