Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job in Indianapolis, IN

You'll work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at IU Health Riley Hospital for Children, a dedicated children's hospital in Indianapolis. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026.

Schedule & Pay

• 3x12-hour night shifts per week
• Every other weekend requirement
• Weekly pay: $2,387

Primary Role & Duties

Your primary assignment is in the PICU, where you'll provide respiratory care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients. You may float to affiliated units or nearby hospital locations as needed. Your clinical responsibilities include mechanical ventilation weaning, tracheostomy care and management, BiPAP and CPAP support, nitric oxide (iNO) therapy, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), oral and nasal airway management, pulmonary hygiene, and use of the Servo U ventilator. You'll work within the Cerner charting system.

Required Qualifications

• Current Indiana state respiratory therapy license (temporary license accepted if permanent application submitted)
• Minimum 2 years respiratory therapy experience
• Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years
• PICU or NICU experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, NRP
• Education accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS certification
• Cerner charting experience
