Med Surg RN Job in Corpus Christi, TX

You will work as an RN on a Neuro/Ortho unit at Bay Area Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. This is a 13-week travel assignment starting September 21, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• Night shift: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., three 12-hour shifts per week
• Patient ratios of 6:1, sometimes 5:1
• Night shift staffing includes 5 RNs and 1 PCT

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide general med/surg nursing care on a 4th-floor unit
• Manage chest tubes
• Administer and monitor non-titrated Cardizem and Amiodarone drips
• Manage weight-based heparin drips
• Operate Baxter IV pumps, KCI wound vacs, and SCD pumps
• Document in Meditech EMR system (Meditech experience preferred)

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Telemetry experience preferred

Compensation and Details

• Weekly pay: $1,661
• Assignment length: 91 days
• Scrub color requirement: Royal blue

You will join a team with established day and night staffing. This assignment offers the opportunity to develop your med/surg and ortho nursing skills in a structured environment with clear patient ratios and defined support.
