PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with ASAP start date
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Contract end day is Sunday, not Saturday
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float requirement to all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units
• Low census available in hour increments, typically in 4-hour increments; traveler may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• No on-call or callback requirements
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Unit is a 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry focus
• Patient population includes stable and weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke, and primary patients/insulin drips
• Scrub colors: any color
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required - firm requirement
• Stepdown, Intermediate, or PCU experience required
• ICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Ventilator/trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Must be a hard worker, resilient, able to manage independently, complete tasks in a timely manner, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
