PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work evening shifts from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:2, with potential to increase up to 1:4 to accommodate overflow patients waiting for room assignments
• On-call every 3rd weekend, typically scheduled on a volunteer basis, with call shifts running 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Holidays are part of the call schedule
• Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU required
• First-time travelers will not be accepted
• Travel experience required
• Scrub color: Royal blue
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA)
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Patients served include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Key skills include Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery, post-operative procedures, conscious sedation, pain assessment and management, arterial line management, airway assessment, extubation, and management of pediatric patients
• Additional skills include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, IV vasopressor management, and blood product administration
• Interdisciplinary support available including interpretation services, radiology, and pharmacy
