Pediatrics RN Job in Mesa, Arizona

Banner Desert Medical Center is seeking an RN for General Pediatrics on a 3x12 night shift schedule. This is an 89-day travel assignment beginning November 2, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,310.30.

Your Role

You will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for pediatric patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. You'll review patient histories and physical exams with patients and families, ensuring timely completion. You'll analyze diagnostics and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers.

You'll formulate individualized care plans based on patient-specific needs, including discharge planning. Collaboration with the multidisciplinary team is essential to develop realistic, measurable patient goals. You'll delegate appropriately and provide supervision to licensed and non-licensed personnel, evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, and revise the plan of care as needed.

Documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses must be legible and timely. You'll participate in shared leadership, education, and mentoring of facility personnel, patients, students, and families.

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• BLS certification required
• Minimum one year experience in acute care hospital setting
• Experience in acute care within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in pediatrics
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred

Physical Requirements

You must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently. You'll lift up to 75 pounds regularly and use standard precautions due to exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

Schedule

Expect a varied work schedule including weekends, holidays, and float assignments per department guidelines.
