PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN in a 10-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with ICU overflow at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026, with three 12-hour day shifts per week (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM). Your weekly pay is $2,102.40.

Unit Details

• Patient ratios: 2:1 for ICU patients, 4–5:1 for PCU patients
• Day shift staffing: 1 charge RN and 5 staff RNs
• Night shift staffing: 1 charge RN and 5 staff RNs
• Every other weekend requirement and holiday support expected
• Floating to other units as part of facility policy
• No on-call requirements

Clinical Responsibilities

• Hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Critical care pharmacology including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
• Central line management and care
• Assist providers with bedside procedures: chest tube insertion and intubations
• Bedside shift report completion in all hospital areas
• Relief charge nurses perform nurse leader rounding

Requirements

• Medical ICU experience in a large facility required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Comfort with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Critical thinking, flexibility, and strong teamwork

• Documentation: Cerner
• Equipment: lift equipment, Targeted Temperature Management (TTM), ventilators, and IV pumps
• Dress code: Navy blue or white scrubs
