About this role

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit at BJC West – Saint Lukes East in Lees Summit, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 3x12 night shifts, paying $2,212.53 weekly. Your start date is August 17, 2026.

Role Details

  • Night shift position with a 1:5 patient ratio
  • Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts must match your regular assigned shift length
  • Minimum 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday combination)
  • Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
  • No block scheduling available; regular floating between departments, units, and facilities as needed
  • Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required; community hospital experience required
  • Travel experience required; you must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CPI preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred

Core Clinical Skills

You'll manage cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, post-cardiac angiogram and MI patients, pre/post cardiac catheterization care, rapid response team coordination, feeding tube management, hemodialysis pre/post care, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PICC lines, IV starts, heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drips (non-titrating), PCA, CVA, surgical drains, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac.

Patient Populations

You'll care for patients with acute myocardial infarction, cardiac arrhythmia, heart failure, chest pain, vascular/peripheral vascular disease, sepsis/infection, pneumonia, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, and GI bleed. Special focus on pre/post catheterization patients and femoral line/groin site management.

Preferred skills include sheath removal, port access, phlebotomy, and total joint replacement experience.
