Job Details:

• Position specialty: Medical ICU (MICU)
• Sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts available (3x12 or 4x12)
• Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Float possible within service line to MS areas within ICU service line or any ICU with needs
• Block scheduling not available
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility radius; no local candidates accepted
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
• Guaranteed hours provided
• 1.5 years of ICU experience required; prefer 1.5 years of MICU experience
• If less than 2 years of experience, Level I experience is required
• Must have experience in a 20+ bed ICU
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must pass Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Preferred certifications: BSN, CCRN
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required clinical skills include:
   - Pressor support, ETT, trachs, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and wound care
   - Sterile technique: line insertion, paracentesis, bedside trach placement, chest tubes, bronchoscopy, and phlebotomy
   - Arterial line management, central line care/management, PICC line management
   - BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, ventilator management
   - Blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
   - Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
   - Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias
   - High flow nasal cannula (HFNC), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun
   - Emergency medications, procedural sedation administration and monitoring
   - Must be competent in caring for patients on CRRT via NxStage
• Preferred clinical skills include:
   - Swan-Ganz monitoring, inhaled and IV Flolan, CVVHD, proning, MTP Level 1 Rapid Transfuser
• Special equipment: MTP-Level 1 Rapid Infuser
• Interdisciplinary support available: Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Unit Secretary
• Patient diagnoses: Medical ICU; adults only
• Daily census: 41; number of beds: 42
