About this role

Join Bay Area Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. This is a 13-week travel assignment running 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, three days per week, beginning June 29, 2026. You will earn $1,831 per week.

About the Role

You will work in a 16-bed emergency department with 8 additional hall chairs, managing a patient ratio of 1:4 under typical conditions; you may be assigned up to 6 patients depending on acuity. Your responsibilities include patient assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV insertion, urine collection, and lab draws. You will care for patients across all ESI levels (5 through 1).

Staffing and Environment

Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 4–5 nurses (one mid-shift), 1 unit secretary, and 1–2 techs. Night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 4–5 nurses (one mid-shift), a unit secretary until midnight, and 1 tech. The department predominantly handles low-acuity ESI 4 and 5 patients.

Systems and Equipment

The facility uses Meditech electronic medical records with vital signs flowing directly into the chart. You will work with cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, HPs, Tonometer, and other standard emergency equipment.

Requirements and Expectations

  • Level II or Level III trauma experience required
  • Greater than two years of emergency department experience preferred
  • Mandatory certifications: TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, and BLS
  • Preferred certifications: CEN or TCRN, and CPI
  • Mandatory shift huddle attendance at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM (unless providing critical care at time of huddle)
  • EMTALA training is mandatory
  • Royal Blue scrubs preferred
  • Sunday team spirit attire encouraged (team jersey such as Astros or Cowboys)
