Telemetry RN Job in Lexington, KY

Saint Joseph Hospital – Lexington is seeking a Registered Nurse for their 26-bed Telemetry unit. You'll work three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) in a structured environment where a charge nurse manages patient assignments each shift.

Schedule and Staffing

You'll maintain a balanced, self-scheduled rotation with every other weekend required (two weekend shifts per two-week period). Holiday commitments include two summer holidays and three winter holidays (Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day). There is no on-call or standby requirement.

Clinical Role and Responsibilities

You'll care for patients with Med-Surg, Gastroenterology, and Telemetry diagnoses at nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6. Your duties include:

• Titrating drips (Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Cardizem)
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and demonstrating cardiac rhythm knowledge
• Operating BiPAP, CPAP, and High Flow O2 equipment
• Collaborating with patient care techs who handle vitals, glucose monitoring, baths, ambulation, I&Os, and drain management
• Potential float assignments to other departments as needed

Requirements and Resources

You must hold current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications and have a minimum of one year nursing experience. A BSN is not required. The unit uses EPIC for charting and requires Galaxy Blue scrubs. You'll receive two shifts of unit-specific orientation to familiarize yourself with workflows and systems.
