Occupational Therapy Assistant Job in Lowell, MA

Tide Health Group – Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) for a long-term care setting in Lowell, Massachusetts. This is a temporary position running 91 days, starting October 5, 2026.

Position Details:

• Schedule: 5x8 days (day shift, no weekends or on-call requirements)
• Weekly Pay: $1,505
• Facility Type: Long-term care and rehabilitation

Your Responsibilities:

You will support occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Your day-to-day work includes:

• Deliver evidence-based rehabilitative and skilled treatment interventions for patients with cognitive and physical functioning disorders
• Administer ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and assistive device training
• Assess patient progress and report findings to your supervising Occupational Therapist to guide treatment adjustments
• Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding patient needs and treatment plans
• Communicate effectively with the care team regarding patient progress, barriers, and plan modifications
• Contribute to discharge summaries and regulatory documentation as directed
• Document treatment sessions accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain records per company policy
• Record treatment minutes for all services provided in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation team meetings
• Support and supervise students under OTA supervision as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Active COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) license
• Current Massachusetts state occupational therapy license
• Minimum 1 year of OTA clinical experience
• Prior long-term care or rehabilitation experience required
• Knowledge of NBCOT/AOTA practice standards, code of conduct, and ethics

You will work in a collaborative care environment with no weekend or on-call obligations, allowing for predictable scheduling in a well-established rehabilitation facility.
