PCU RN Job in Mesa, Arizona

As a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Banner Desert Medical Center, you will deliver direct patient care in a dynamic acute care setting. This is a travel nursing position offering a 3x12 night shift schedule over an 89-day assignment beginning September 7, 2026.

Your Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs
• Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized care plans including discharge planning in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members
• Delegate and supervise activities of licensed nurses and other healthcare personnel as appropriate
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising care plans as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and in a timely manner
• Participate in unit or facility shared leadership and contribute to national nursing quality indicator improvement
• Precept and mentor staff, students, and other personnel as appropriate
• Work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and float per department guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona or compact RN licensure
• BLS certification
• Minimum one year experience in an acute care hospital setting, with experience in progressive care within the past 12 months
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently; may be required to lift up to 75 pounds
• Standard precautions compliance due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• Professional nursing certification

Banner Desert Medical Center is located at 1400 S Dobson Road, Mesa, Arizona. Weekly pay is $2,559.
