PCU Registered Nurse Job in Memphis, Tennessee

Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in their Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work day shifts on a 3x12 schedule, earning $2,151.36 weekly, with a start date of July 27, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide skilled nursing care in a 48-bed cardiac stepdown unit with private beds equipped for bedside and telemetry monitoring. Your patients will require more than standard med/surg telemetry but less than intensive care. You will monitor cardiac, pulmonary, and other disease processes with close observation, maintain patient ratios of 1:4–5 using team nursing ratios, and participate in process improvements to ensure high-quality care and patient satisfaction.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience; 3+ years preferred
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Active RN license in Tennessee or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with telemetry and IV starts
• EPIC experience preferred
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility

Schedule & Expectations

This is a day shift position with 36–48 hours per week; schedule may be discussed during interview. Weekend coverage and on-call availability are required as needed. Weekend block schedules may be considered. If your assignment includes end-of-year holidays, you must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if all three fall within the assignment, or at least 1 if only 2 fall within your term. All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; requests will not be approved after an offer is made.
