ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 3 x 12-hour variable shifts with rotating schedules ranging from 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 11:00 AM–11:00 PM, 3:00 PM–3:00 AM, and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling type
• Night patient ratio of 1:4
• May be required to float to other campuses for support if/when census permits within scope of practice
• Provide competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care in accordance with unit policies, evidence-based nursing practice, and standards of care
• Care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• 1 year of ED RN experience required; travel experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, NIHSS
• California RN licensure required
• Key clinical skills include: triage, IV insertion and management, arterial line management, central line care, chest tube management, blood product administration, procedural sedation, management of dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, splint application, IV vasopressors, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and management of behavioral health conditions
