ED RN Job in Redding, CA

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment in the Emergency Room. You will work 3×12-hour night shifts with start times between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, with every other weekend required. Weekly pay is $2,101. Start date: September 29, 2026.

Unit Overview

The 28-bed ED handles approximately 155 patients per day in a high-volume, high-acuity environment. The unit includes 4 fast track beds, 2 trauma bays, and hallway beds. You will care for trauma, stroke, pediatric, and psychiatric patients. Your patient ratio is 1 to 4.

Staffing & Support

• EMT support on each shift, including a mid-shift EMT for tech assistance
• Charge nurses available who do not take patient assignments
• Hospitalist and intensivist available in-house 24/7
• Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and telemetry support available 24/7

Scheduling & Orientation

Self-scheduling by seniority with schedules posted at least two weeks in advance. One day of call required per month, potentially two depending on call team schedule. You will work into the permanent staff holiday rotation. No floating required. You will receive 2–3 shifts of floor-specific orientation.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience
• Ventilator experience required
• Level II trauma experience or above preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred
• Must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one
• Comfort working in a high-volume, high-acuity emergency room environment
