About this role

St Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 15-bed Emergency Department. You'll work 3 shifts per week on a 12-hour night rotation with variable start times (7-7, 9-9, 10-10, 11-11, or 2-2). Schedules are made 30–45 days in advance, and every other weekend is required. Holidays are worked into the permanent staff rotation.

About the Role

Your primary responsibility is direct patient care in a high-volume ED seeing approximately 100 patient visits daily. You'll manage a typical patient ratio of 1:4, depending on acuity. The department includes a 6-bed fast track operational from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Common diagnoses include stroke, abdominal pain, orthopedic injuries, psychiatric presentations, and general emergency cases. The facility also treats 500–600 pediatric patients monthly.

You'll be the first to float when needed to support other units. Orientation runs 2–3 days on the ED. There is no IV Team on site, but Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy are available 24/7.

Required Experience & Certifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in emergency nursing
  • Level III trauma experience or above preferred
  • Ventilator experience required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
  • Valid California nursing license
  • BSN is not required

Systems & Environment

The ED uses Cerner (FirstNet) as its electronic medical record system. Telemetry monitoring is managed through Philips with a dedicated central monitor technician in the ICU tracking ER patient strips. Navy scrubs are the uniform standard.

This assignment is 91 days in length, starting October 6, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,101.
