ED Registered Nurse Job in San Francisco, CA

Sutter Health CPMC Van Ness Campus is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with weekend rotation required and no on-call obligations.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
• Travel healthcare experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Valid California RN licensure
• Current ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications

Key Responsibilities:

You will care for patients at a 4:1 ratio across all shifts. Your responsibilities include accurate assessment documentation, clinical procedures such as IV placement, Foley catheter insertion, and dressing changes. You will administer medications safely, manage equipment including telemonitoring, IV lines, and ventilators, and provide effective patient and family education.

You will recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, act as a patient advocate, and report errors and near misses. Work will involve both independent practice and team-based collaboration, treating patients across all age groups from neonates to geriatrics.

Clinical Skills Expected:

• Arterial line management
• BiPAP and CPAP management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care
• Chest tube management
• Continuous IV sedation and paralytics
• IV vasopressors
• Procedural sedation
• Intubation
• Triage
• Management of multisystem organ dysfunction

You will demonstrate a strong understanding of evidence-based practice, pathophysiology, pharmacological implications, and regulatory issues. The facility uses Epic for charting.

Assignment Details:

91-day assignment beginning October 5, 2026. Weekly pay: $2,555.19
