ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must work holidays in November and December; manager may consider 1 of 3 holidays if it does not conflict with unit demands
• No on-call or standby requirement; extra shifts available but not required
• No floating requirements
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a larger trauma setting required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Washington state or Compact nursing license required
• Phone interview required with manager prior to placement
• Patient ratios of 1:3 for standard acuity and 1:4 for low acuity patients
• Common diagnoses include cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, respiratory conditions, abdominal pain, and mental health
• Charting system: Epic
• RNs responsible for reading telemetry strips
• Nurse or ED Tech performs blood draws primarily
• ED Techs perform EKGs; Respiratory Therapists manage ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and complete ABGs
• Dress code: Any professional scrub colors
• Orientation includes 1 day of compliance information (8-10 hours) and 1 day of department orientation (12 hours)
• No time-off requests will be considered during the first full week of assignment
• BSN not required
