About this role

Mercy Hospital Springfield seeks a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on the Cardiac Telemetry unit. You will provide direct patient care on a 32-bed unit serving cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Assignment Details

  • 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Weekly guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 hours (indicate on submission form)
  • Weekend hours as required by facility
  • No call requirements
  • Rotational floating within the unit
  • Night shift orientation conducted on day shift; full-week availability required
  • Start date: July 6, 2026

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in Missouri or eligible for licensure
  • Minimum 1 year inpatient cardiac telemetry experience
  • Demonstrated competence in drug titration
  • BLS from AHA (required)
  • 4 trauma credits (must complete within first two weeks if not already obtained)
  • NIHSS certification (must obtain prior to start)
  • ACLS from AHA (preferred)

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
  • Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments
  • Maintain professional accountability for patient care and patient rights
  • Patient ratios: days 1:5–1:6, nights 1:6–1:8 (estimates, not guarantees)

Work Environment

  • Equipment: Alaris pumps, telemetry monitors, and lift equipment
  • EMR system: EPIC
  • Physical demands include standing and walking most of the time, bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
  • Push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs.; pinch up to 15 lbs.; minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids

Dress Code

  • Required: Black scrubs
  • Unacceptable: Torn clothing, open-toed shoes, non-compliant attire

Compensation

  • $2,249 per week
