ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend requirement based on unit needs and demands
• Must work holidays in November and December; manager may consider 1 of the 3 holidays if it does not conflict with unit demands
• No on-call or standby requirement; extra shifts available but not required
• No floating requirements
• Patient ratios of 1:3, or 1:4 for low acuity patients
• Work in a 56-bed emergency department with capacity expanding to 60-70 beds with hall beds
• Fast track area with 6 beds and separate triage area with 5 beds available
• Manage patients with common diagnoses including cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, respiratory conditions, abdominal pain, and mental health
• Utilize Epic EMR for charting
• Use telemetry monitoring and read strips independently
• Work alongside ED physicians, mid-levels, charge nurses, house supervisors, ED techs, and CNAs
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a larger trauma setting required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC, NIHSS
• Washington state or Compact nursing license required
• BSN not required
• Scrub color: any professional colors
• Orientation includes 1 day of compliance information (8-10 hours) and 1 day of department orientation (12 hours)
• No time-off requests will be considered during the first full week of assignment
