Job Details:

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care to critically ill patients in an ICU/CCU setting based on scientific nursing principles
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications via oral, subcutaneous, and IV routes; report adverse reactions in accordance with policy
• Initiate and implement patient education plans as prescribed by physician, including post-treatment home care, diet and nutrition, medication self-administration, and rehabilitation
• Record patient medical information and vital signs accurately and in a timely manner
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient conditions
• Take samples for lab work, order prescribed lab work, and evaluate and interpret lab reports
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examination and treatment of patients
• Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol
• Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy, and IV protocols
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment including cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, oxygen pumps, and record readings such as central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms
• Monitor catheters, leads, and tubing for proper placement and functioning
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring or life support equipment indicates adverse symptomatology
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
• Valid professional nursing license within the state of practice or nurse licensure compact required
• Critical care experience in a hospital setting required
