ICU Registered Nurse Job in Tacoma, WA

St Joseph Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in our Intensive Care Unit. You'll work the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 3x12 schedule with every other weekend requirement (Friday and Saturday nights).

Role Overview

Your primary assignment is in our Progressive Care Unit with float eligibility to ICU as needed. You may also float to Region Two locations in Lakewood and Enumclaw, WA, with rate differential applied when working outside your primary location. You'll manage patients across 82 critical care beds—48 ICU and 34 PCU beds distributed across 3 separate floors.

Clinical Responsibilities

• ICU patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
• PCU patient ratios: 1:3
• Manage all ICU-level drips; PCU drips include cardizem, nitro, insulin, and heparin (no pressors in PCU)
• Ventilator experience required for ICU assignments; PCU does not include ventilators
• IABP and CRRT experience not required unless you bring that skill

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license
• Minimum 2 years specialty experience in critical care
• ACLS (AHA) and BLS certifications required

Facility Details

You'll use the EPIC charting system and have access to a 1-week orientation with an educator (minimum 2 shifts). There are no scrub color requirements. Holiday rotation is shared with permanent staff.

Assignment Terms

This 91-day assignment begins October 26, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,513. The hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts per assignment less than 13 weeks.
