RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with day shift hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM and night shift hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement as needed
• Holiday requirement as needed
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Acute care setting with 42 beds on the Med/Surg unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6-7 with CNA support at 1:6-7 ratio and virtual nurse support at 1:30 ratio
• Dyad model in place - each nurse is paired with their own CNA and the support of a virtual nurse through the Virtually Integrated Care (VIC) model
• Common patient diagnoses include medical, surgical, and orthopedic cases
• Heparin drips permitted; no other titratable drips
• Respiratory therapy available 24 hours on the floor
• Telemetry available on the floor with centralized telemetry station
• Floating requirements to PCU or Burn unit
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Orientation consists of one week of classroom training followed by two 12-hour shifts on the floor
• Pass/fail open book exam required during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90%
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Required certification: BLS
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
