NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks, with weekends defined as Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday scheduling based on unit coverage needs
• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
• Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); Cardiac STABLE certification is a plus
• Must demonstrate competency in sterile field technique; Day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion required
• Charting system: Cerner EMR
• Patient ratios: 1:2 ICU, 1:3 Level 2
• Scrub color: Navy
• Telemetry system: Phillips
• Ventilators managed by Respiratory Therapy
• Neonatologist and midlevels available in-house 24/7
• Respiratory Therapy and NICU Pharmacy support available
• 71-bed unit including 17 stepdown beds with 4 private rooms
• Common patient diagnoses include premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical cases, ECMO, and cooling patients
• Float assignments may include mother-baby and labor care for babies only
• Floor-specific orientation: 2 to 3 days on the unit
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or up to 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
